Tide Catcher - There is a woman in Birch Bay who has captured one of the basic concepts of the sea - the Tide.  And she has created a great site called the Tide Catcher where she asks people, Are you a Tide Catcher?  If you love the water you are. Check it out....www.tidecatcher.com.  You know ships used to sail on the tide, they were the original tide catchers.
Poets Cove Resort and Spa- Poets Cove is a true jewel located in the heart of the Salish Sea.  In years past, Poets Cove was little more than a government dock on South Pender Island, but over the years it has developed into a world class resort and spa.  Some of my friends think I have forgotten the days when the harbor was old fishing boats and life long men of the sea and have bought into the time of plastic boats and fashionable clothes.  I have not bought in, I recognize change but realize the beauty and setting of Poets Cove is one of the most special places in the Salish Sea.
Pirates of Poets Cove - In 2008, while sitting in the hot tub at Poets Cove, the idea of the Pirates of Poets Cove was born - partly from fact, partly from fantasy, but partly from the fact that the Salish Sea was, and is, a known smuggling location.  The main bulk of the story is available here, but if you want the concluding chapter, yes you do need to contact us.  Right now it is free to read (and yes, it is copyrighted) but when the editing, proofing and finishing is done there will be a nominal cost for the story.  And the story is continuing.....
Parker Newman Grove - From the 1930’s families used to pack up the old car and head out for a week or two, many coming to stay in beautiful Birch Bay in one of the many “simple” cabins for a fraction of the cost of a larger hotel. Remember when?  Remember your parents loading you in the car and driving for what seemed like for ever and you would arrive, jump out and just start playing? Remember the beach fires, the card games, the roller skating, walks with your brother and sister, staying up late at night watching the stars?
